I'm posting these by request.
I sold the car two years ago. It was purchased new, stored winters, and was never a daily driver.
But that doesn't mean I didn't drive it :D
Autocrossed every weekend until I bought my Evo...

Amazingly clean! Wish I could afford one with that kind of miles let alone find one. Guy in town has one with 33k but that ain't shit compared to your old one.

On one hand I wish I still had it - it might still have less than 12K on it, since I only drove it about 200 miles a year after I bought the Evo.
But on the other hand, I was paying insurance and maintenance on a car I wasn't using - as much as I loved the car, there are more important things in life.
It was painful to do a timing belt and replace tires on a car with less than 12K miles, but age takes its toll.
I hate this thread. It's bringing back too many memories :(

Very NICE. Is that a Road Race Strut Tower Bar? How well does that thing work?

Good eye :thumb Yup - that's a RRE bar.
It's fantastic for side-to-side flex because it's a welded one piece unit.
It can be a bitch to install because there's no adjustment. I had to hog out the mounting holes a little to get the bar to fit over the struts.
I suppose that if there is flex that is not exactly side-to-side, that the bar could twist because it has a single mounting point. An X-brace would be best, but that is not allowed in most SCCA Solo2 classes. It seemed to work extremely well for me in both GS and SM, when coupled with the RRE rear brace and RM Racing sway bars.

I believe that cars are meant to be driven. It was run in a stock class for two seasons, then carefully modded for ESP. But a SCCA rule change landed it in SM, where it was competitive, despite being held back by the stock T25, for another two years. What a great car!

+1. There is, however, a VERY select number of other cars that pull off red in my mind...

I'm not going to discuss the sale price - that's between me and the buyer. Let's just say it was significantly more than blue book.
I think I could have done better if I had been more patient and willing to advertise nationally. I kept some parts to sell separately, most of which have been sold.
Much of the car's value was due to the extremely low mileage and show room condition. These days I'd expect a 40K GSX in perfect, unmodified (or slightly modified) condition, with a new timing belt and tires, to sell for around $7K - $11K depending on condition and year. A/T's seem to sell for less, as do cars with engine/turbo mods.

The A/Ts sell for less because they are more common.

Yes - and no. With a brand new Evo in the garage, it was a toss up as to which to drive. The Evo usually won.
It became an expensive luxury to pay for insurance and registration, and taking up garage space, for a car I wasn't using much. It was time to sell while it still was worth something.
On the other hand - I love that car! I do miss it. But ca$h in my pocket is worth more.
WOW! That is a sick car! Shoulda kept it, lol.

John, I'm really interested in how much you sold it for. If you wouldn't mind sharing, shoot me a PM. Down the road I am going to try and find something similar so I'd like to know what to expect (I have yet to find a 2G with less than 30k).
