A few people already know me from other forums, and may have followed some of my build over the years. For everybody else, I thought you might enjoy watching my build from start to finish. I am the second owner, I bought the car in May of 2001, bone stock. I drove it for about a year, then had to go overseas for the military. For the first 3 years I couldn’t drive a car, so it sat in storage. 4 years ago, when I got my new assignment to Thailand, I shipped my car over here. That’s when things really got underway. Here are the pics.
Enjoy!
When I first bought it.

Thanks, I wasn't sure how the evo 9 wheels would look when I bought them. I got such a good deal on them I couldn't pass them up. I just got them on after the tranny swap was complete about 2 weeks ago. I am very happy with how they look. And they feel much nicer than those 19s did. I can also get much better traction with the smaller lighter wheel and much nicer tires.
Im not normally a fan of body kits but your car looks amazing, well done!
Thanks, I'm not usually either, but I designed this myself, so I got to make it exactly how I wanted it.
So wait, the tranny worked?
Yes Sir! Worked like a champ until last friday night, when I broke an axle...getting it replaced right now. Should have it back by the weekend. Trying to go to the track friday night, so we'll see how it holds up.
I absolutely love this car. DSM-tunerism at its best. :D
Thanks!

Not really any more plans for the car, maybe just a few little things. While its in the shop now, they are going to drill out one of the head lights to allow a little more air flow into the engine bay, and 850cc injectors, and another dyno tune. Thats about it.
Car looks great Maurice! Get some video of this thing in action when it's up and running again.
Thanks Mike, I will definatly get some video up as soon as I can.

I'll try to get some videos soon. Its not awd though. I'm sure we could have done it, but I didn't want to cut the frame, I'd rather keep it fwd and be a bit safer.

Actually I have no money, this damn money pit of a car took it all. I really want to stop spending money on it as I just bought a condo and need the money for that. I just wish the damn thing would stop breaking.
Not sure when I'll be back to MN again, I'm moving to Korea in about 2 weeks, so my next vacation will probably be back to Thailand to see the wife. The next time I go back will probably be around this time next year.

Wow, this car is one of the best looking 420a's that i've seen put together. You did one hell of a job on this beast!
Maurice, your car is amazing! I love everything about it and it gives me hope that mine, someday will look as great as yours!
Maurice, I have always admired your car, you have done a fine job of making an all around fun car. Have you considered getting some bigger injectors, and running race fuel with a better tune and larger turbo? That would be pretty sick buddy.

Thanks Brandon. I'm actually ordering 850cc injectors today. The tune is actually pretty good, I just have these 550cc injectors maxed out. I'm not even using the turbo to its full potential yet. I'm only boosting about 21 psi. After I get my new injectors in, we are going to retune it and bump the boost 30+ psi. I'm hoping for high 400s this time. After the next tune I'm done putting money into this car. What size injectors and what turbo did you have on your RS-T?
Oh, I guess I didn't realize that you are only on 550s... wow, the 850s with a better tune should make a huge difference. Good luck with that.
At least you will have your car where you want it then.

Thanks, I think its neat too. You don't see these cars all together very often. It was a fun meet. That GTO now has a single turbo conversion pushing about 500awhp. The FTO has an evo VI engine and drive train swap and the evo III is pretty much stock.
I wish I could submit this photo for the photo contest, but its way too old. I'm going to try to meet up with these guys again, but I've only got 4 days now...

I did meet you briefly with Mike at the Mitsu cook out last summer, maybe you just didn't realize it was me...
And believe me, I don't want to go to Korea. I was there for 3 years before I came to Thailand. My wife and car can't go with me, I can't even drive; plus working 6 days a week 12-14 hours per day = not fun. Whenever I make it back though, we should set up a meet.

Thanks man, good luck getting to 500hp, its possible but not easy or cheap.
As for the rear disk brakes, I bought a complete "kit" with everything needed from sombody of team-2g for around $100. My mechanic installed it in about a day and said that it was easy. They did it while waiting on some engine parts to come in.
