Mitsu failed big time with the Evo+Ralliart releases. With the RA out, you will be seeing the Evo less and less on the streets. The only difference from the RA and the Evo are the intercooler core, the cam profiles and the turbo is single scroll instead of the Evo's twin scroll. So basically with about $1000 you can get the RA up to the Evos performance if not even more. But, the RA comes only in Shiftronic tranny, no manual. :(

Mitsubishi-forums.com. Yeah, you're close. The RA is about 5000 dollars cheaper and insurance is way cheaper, haha, and the Evo has a better awd system, the RA has the one from past Evo's I believe, not positive though.

I'm about to go from 20% all around and none on windshield to 5% all around and 35% on the windshield. :D

My company car (mazdaspeed3) has 5% all around and I love it and I'm pretty used to it.

But 20% is a good/safe percentage to go with. FL cops aren't that bad with tints, IMO.

do NOT get any of the non-turbo 08+ lancers AT ALL if you are looking for performance... there are plenty of cars [boosted perhaps] that you can get, brand new, with the amount of money you would spend on a gts.. i smack myself every day cause of the little research i did on this car.... looks bad ass, ill give you that.... but thats bout it

Sticker price was 27000, but I traded my GTS in and have the same payments. My GTS sticker price was 22000, but my GTS had sun and sound and my RA doesn't but I have 2 12's now in my RA. The RA has turbo and AWD. Also, it has the TSS transmission, way better than the CVT. I'm not sure how much the boost is pushing, I don't have the gauge that tells me, but I would def recommend the RA over GTS performance and looks wise. It would be $1000+ to, but the tail lights and hood. :mitsu

Hey! Another RA finally! Might not be the previous model but still an RA at heart. :thumb I stopped by my local Mitsu dealer when they got a few in and I was going to trade in my 04 RA for an 09 but I just couldn't do the whole automatic trans bit. I just can't get past that, I drive my dads IS250 and it's auto with the paddle shifters and don't get me wrong it's fast and all but I feel like I have much less control. But nice car nonetheless and welcome!

Oh, and I don't know if you know of them yet, but you should check out Road Race Motorsports (http://www.roadracemotorsports.com), they have a few things for the new RA, mostly aesthetics and CF for now but they're a phenomenal company.

Thanks, I'll take a look. Yea, it's an automatic but the TSS really feels like a stick. I rarely ever brake with the tranny brake. But again, it's not a manual, lol, but I like it better.

I dont know about that.. the RRM kit for the CVT lancer was put to the test already and it PWNED a stock RA :)

I'm hoping to get black rims for x-mas, but I'm definitely getting tint for x-mas. Will have more pics after then hopefully. The only bad thing is I have to wait a while for any thing to come out for it, so it'll be stock for a while. :(

I can't believe these have been out so long and this is our only member that owns one! They are really nice cars... I think what turns people away is the lack of availability of a Manual gearbox lol.

very nice RA. i love the new RAs but i really think mitsu shot themselves in the foot with the release of it. i think its really goin to cut into evo sales because its so close to an evo. idk im kinda on the fence about the new RA. on one hand i love the car for the look and performance, but on teh other hand i feel as if they overdid it by makin it AWD and turbo unlike previous RAs. and the fact that it does not have the option for a manual gearbox seeing that its supposed to be a performance car i think is kinda wierd. eh but thats just me!

ANYWAYS...great car love and and glad to see ur driving mitsu and a especially a RA!!!!

No, I'm not jealous. I mean I'm going turbo too, it's just a matter of months. I don't know though, I'm not saying I don't like it because I do and mad props for picking one up! It's just personal opinion that's all. As long as it's :mitsu it doesn't really matter though!

I know, I'm just messing with you. That's tight you're going to drop a turbo in there. Yeah, I'm the only 8g RA around where I live that I've seen at least. Hopefully if Mitsu ends up shutting down or whatever maybe they will be really rare, haha. Worth lots of money.

I'm posting here because i was just wondering if there were any Ra owners on the site. I'm glad there are, I think its a decent car. on the first page someone said that the ra was almost an evo X. That is far from the truth. The RA is a beefed up lancer GTS with AWD and turbo. The frames are different, the bodies are different, and everything under the hood is different.

I'm not bashin or baggin on anyone, just clarifying. If it gets out of hand I'll put in the search time and post up links to prove my point.

i still think its a nice car, esp if you like the lancers but dont want an EVO.

p.s. I want the RA taillights :P

The awd system is from the Evo 9.

With some parts from AMS and a tune, you can get the Ralliart up to a stock Evo gsr.

Actually, the engine is almost identicall. same 4b11, just a smaller turbo and a lighter tune.

as for the frame, not sure about that, but I do know hte AWD system is differnet.

the block is the same, the head is different, the intake is different, the fmic is different, the turbo is different, the ecu is different. the battery in the evo is in the trunk, in the lancer and the RA its under the hood.

Very nice car sir!! I've been talking to Mitsu about trading in my Eclipse and Explorer to get an RA. At first i was going to opt for the X ( always wanted an EVO ) but when i went down there and started talking to them about the RA's he showed me the specs compared WITH the EVO and i was astonished. There are VERY few differences between the 2 and with very, very few parts and a tune it would actually smoke a stock GSR. I'm sold! haha.

Nice RA, just to clarify some stuff, i saw someones post about making a new ralliart wagon. They are introducing a sportback that is already on the mitsu website. And your transmission is a TC-SST Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Tranmission. The RA's are almost as fast as the GSR's and MR's. C&D tested them .7 seconds slower in a quarter and after driving an RA and MR they feel very similar in the low end. Do you have the Recaro Seat Package? I would personally rather buy a stripped GSR than a RA due to the 5 speed and looks but the RA's are definitely sick :thumb

No i didnt get the recaro package, that like a 2800 dollar pacakage. i already got 2 12's for $150 and i cant HIDs cheap, pointless package for DD.

Oh, that works the seats are the only thing i would want in that package. And i dont know about everywhere but our dealership cant even get any more ralliarts, at all. And its the biggest Mitsu dealership in the state, we have gotten 3 and only have one left. So i dont know about seeing less evos out there, just because of the ralliart

well i dont own one but i have driven them a few times as well as the evo's. I guess the pro's would be the price, and comfort over say a gsr... I only say comfort because of the automatic transmission, the RA still has plenty of power and its still a descent ride. If you get a stripped one you can get one for mid to high 20's where the evos start out at 33. I have "heard" that the TC-SST transmissions can only hold around 315 hp before they start having problems. So if you want to make alot of power i would definitely suggest a gsr. The RA still feels like a lancer GTS but the power it has feels like an MR its a perfect blend of the two. Personally i would go with the GSR, i just love the manual so much more than the Auto's. Dont get me wrong the auto is pretty good but its just not that exciting unless you are going fast around corners.
