Allow me to give a description.

I have the matching Fuel and Boost controllers from Apexi. As of right now they are laying in my glove box. I would like to mount them in the Passenger side airbag hole.
What i want to do is, take out the passenger side airbag and make a mount that will lift out of the dash to show the 2 computers. I want to use the cover to keep that stock look. The task is to get the cover to open and close controlled by a toggle switch to operate it. On = open, Off = Closed. I have racked my brain trying to figure out a way to do this, without spending 150 bucks on a 12v Linear Actuator. Just looking for something simple but effective. If you are looking for any more information that would help, let me know. I have been looking for quite awhile on this and here is a link of what i want to do.

The problem is that that plastic cover is a rubber compound, you need to insert or make a backing plate to to give the piece some strength. After that the money begins, and a endless dreams begin. Good luck! I should have watch the video first! Sic! SiC! SIC! The cheapest way would be use gas struts. Shut it manually.

Thats proly what i will do until i can get to to open and close automaticly. the cover does have a metal plate on it that the airbag was mounted too. So that made it easy.

Mad Mike used power antennas all the time for that sorta thing.
